Mentorship Program

The Mentorship Program of Tilburg School of Social and Behavioural Sciences focuses on the most efficient integration of first year students, helping them get to know the city and the university to make sure they have the best student life possible ahead of them. Student mentors guide the first year students in this process.

One of the exciting aspects of being a student mentor is that you not only get to introduce the students to Tilburg University during TOP-Week, but also during the thrilling months of their first academic year. This means you have a proactive and fun role in their first year at Tilburg University.

When you become a student mentor you show the first year students Tilburg and Tilburg University. Starting in the TOP-Week until the end of the academic year, you are the student mentor of a group of first year students. Your guidance and support are vital for the first year students: refering them to the right point of contact when they face problems, checking in on them and keeping regular contact with your students is really valuable!

At the beginning of your trajectory as a student mentor, you will attend a very fun trainingsday at which you will be prepared for your role as a student mentor. Throughout the year, Faculty Associaton IDEA will host regular and exclusive events for both student mentors and first year students! At the end of the year, you will receive a Mentor Certificate for your hard work, which you can use later on in your professional career. Besides, a Mentor Appreciation Day will be organized during which you can catch up with your fellow student mentors and enjoy the day!

As a first year student of the TSB faculty, you will be apointed to a group of peer students and receive guidance from two student mentors. Throughout the academic year you can seek out for help, both study as well as personal related, your student mentor is there to help you!
